New delhi: Iran and the United Arab Emirates have reached an agreement to strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation, as announced by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday. The announcement came following a meeting with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit.

According to Anadolu Agency, Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of moving beyond past disputes and focusing on future collaboration. The discussions between the two leaders underscored a mutual desire to foster a common understanding for building stronger cooperation.

Additionally, the meeting addressed regional developments, with both leaders expressing their commitment to easing tensions and enhancing stability in the region. This dialogue occurred against the backdrop of the ongoing US-Iran conflict, which began in February and has involved multiple military and economic confrontations, including attacks on Iranian infrastructure and retaliatory strikes by Iran across the region.
