Ankara: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, commenced the week on a downward trend, opening at 14,339.28 points, marking a decrease of 0.88%, or 127.97 points, from the previous close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the index had previously closed on Friday with a rise of 0.51%, reaching 14,467.25 points, with a daily transaction volume recorded at 222 billion liras, equivalent to approximately $4.58 billion. The exchange rates as of 10:00 am local time (0700GMT) stood at 48.6220 Turkish liras against the US dollar, 56.2150 against the euro, and 65.6470 against the British pound.

In the commodities market, the price of an ounce of gold was noted at $4,322.1, while Brent crude futures were trading at $107.3 per barrel.
