Trkiye: Trkiye on Monday rejected what it called 'baseless' remarks by Greek authorities concerning the period when Greece sought to occupy and invade Anatolia, urging Greek officials to act with 'seriousness and common sense.'

According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement rejecting the Greek authorities' remarks about the historical period in question. The ministry highlighted the actions of Greek forces, which it described as involving 'massacres and destruction of civilians in Anatolia.'

Furthermore, the statement pointed out that Greece has acknowledged these acts and its obligation to pay reparations, as stipulated under Article 59 of the Treaty of Lausanne. Trkiye emphasized the importance of addressing historical issues with a sense of responsibility and urged Greek officials to approach the matter with seriousness.
