Doha: Qatar has agreed to help determine the fate of three Iranian pilots whose whereabouts remain unclear, Iran's state news agency IRNA reported on Monday. The case dates back to March 2, when two Iranian Su-24 fighter jets went down during attacks on a military base in Qatar. Iran claims that three pilots were captured alive, while another was killed.

According to Anadolu Agency, Iranian Red Crescent Society chief Pir Hossein Kolivand indicated there was evidence suggesting the three pilots may be in Qatar. He requested the Qatar Red Crescent Society to utilize its channels to gather information about their status. Kolivand emphasized the importance of the neutral humanitarian role played by Red Crescent and Red Cross societies in seeking information to aid the concerned families of the pilots.

Officials from the Qatar Red Crescent Society have pledged to assist in following up on the case and obtaining information regarding the pilots. Both sides also explored the possibility of expanding bilateral cooperation in areas such as rescue operations, training, and the exchange of expertise.
