Riyadh: Saudi Arabia declared on Tuesday that its security, territorial integrity, and capabilities are non-negotiable, emphasizing its right to self-defense and sovereignty protection as unwavering commitments.

According to Anadolu Agency, the announcement was made following a Cabinet meeting chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The official news agency SPA reported that the Cabinet condemned the continued "sinful and deliberate attacks by the terrorist Houthi militia" on civilians and civilian infrastructure within the Kingdom. The Cabinet reaffirmed that the security of Saudi Arabia and the safety of its territories and resources are fundamental principles that will not be compromised.

The statement further emphasized Saudi Arabia's legitimate right to defend its sovereignty, citizens, residents, and vital interests, aligning with provisions in the UN Charter and international law. This declaration comes amidst an increase in Houthi assaults from Yemen on Saudi territories.

Turki al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition supporting the Yemeni government, reported that 13 civilians were injured on Tuesday due to Houthi attacks targeting Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif in southwestern Saudi Arabia. In recent days, Houthi forces have expanded their control over Yemen's Red Sea coastline, including strategic regions such as Mayyun Island in the Bab el-Mandab Strait.

Yemen has been embroiled in conflict since the Houthis seized the capital Sanaa and several provinces in September 2014, leading to the Saudi-led Arab coalition's intervention in March 2015 to support Yemen's internationally recognized government.
