Moscow: Russian presidential aide Nikolay Patrushev stated on Tuesday that Polish statehood could cease to exist within two or three days if Poland were to enter into a military conflict with Russia. This stark warning came in response to recent comments made by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.

According to Anadolu Agency, Patrushev's comments were made during an interview with the Russian newspaper Argumenty i Fakty. He was responding to a statement by Sikorski at the Yalta European Strategy conference in Kyiv, where the Polish minister claimed that his nation, along with its allies, could quickly defeat Russia if attacked. Sikorski emphasized Poland's and NATO's air power superiority over Russia in such a hypothetical scenario.

Patrushev, however, dismissed Sikorski's assertions, noting that Russia was not utilizing its full military potential in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. He warned that if Poland engaged in military action against Russia, the Russian military would respond with its entire arsenal, leading to the potential end of Polish statehood within days.

Sikorski later clarified his statement, indicating that he was referring to a potential conflict involving NATO and Russia, rather than a confrontation between Poland and Russia alone.
