Israeli Forces Conduct Widespread Arrests and Demolitions in Occupied West Bank

Ramallah: Israeli forces arrested 16 Palestinians, including two women and two teenagers, and demolished Bedouin community and Palestinian structures across the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian sources.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Palestinian Prisoners Media Office reported that Israeli forces conducted raids and home searches in the provinces of Tulkarem, Hebron, Nablus, and Jenin. Tulkarem experienced the highest number of arrests, with 10 Palestinians detained in Tulkarem city, Deir al-Ghusun, and Dhanaba, including two women and members of prisoners' families.

In Hebron, two young Palestinians, aged 15 and 18, were arrested after being detained for more than four hours on Al-Ikhwan Street in the southern part of the city. Meanwhile, three Palestinians were detained during raids in Balata al-Balad and Asira al-Shamaliya in Nablus, and another from Jenin refugee camp was arrested in Burqin, west of Jenin.

Separately, Israeli army bulldozers and machinery demolished Bedouin community structures in the western part of Deir Ballut town in the Salfit province. The Al-Baidar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights stated that the community, which housed more than 20 Palestinians for over two decades, relied on livestock farming and owned about 1,000 sheep.

In Hebron, Israeli bulldozers demolished a two-story Palestinian home in Khirbet Khallet al-Hummus in Masafer Yatta, affecting a family of eight, along with a water well and parts of a surrounding wall. Homeowner Hammad Al-Haddar mentioned that Israeli authorities had previously issued a demolition order and the family had been pursuing legal actions to halt it.

Palestinian prisoners' groups and the Palestinian Authority's Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs reported that as of early September 2026, approximately 9,350 Palestinians, including more than 350 children and about 90 women, were held in Israeli prisons. Among them, 3,176 were held under administrative detention without charge. Palestinian rights groups have raised concerns over allegations of torture, starvation, and medical neglect in Israeli prisons, which they claim have led to the deaths of several detainees.
