Beirut: Trkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) has delivered 2,000 tons of flour to Palestinian refugees and displaced families in Lebanon. The delivery was marked by a ceremony at the Port of Beirut, attended by Trkiye's Ambassador to Lebanon Murat Lutem, Lebanese Higher Relief Council chief Bassam Nabulsi, and Dorothee Klaus, the director of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) in Lebanon. The flour is to be distributed to those affected by Israeli attacks.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ambassador Lutem emphasized Trkiye's ongoing assistance to Lebanon, recalling that the Health Ministry had recently sent medicine and supported efforts to meet shelter needs. Trkiye has provided tents, food, clothing, and other humanitarian supplies, with aid exceeding 4,000 tons over the past 2 1/2 years. Lutem highlighted the suffering endured by Lebanon, with around 300,000 people unable to return home due to destruction.

Nabulsi acknowledged Trkiye's longstanding support through state institutions and organizations, with AFAD playing a key role. He stressed the importance of cooperation with Trkiye and UNRWA in addressing humanitarian needs and noted the significance of the flour in supporting food security. Nabulsi expressed gratitude for Trkiye's solidarity, friendship, and partnership with Lebanon.

Klaus thanked Trkiye and AFAD for the aid, stating that it would ease financial burdens for affected families. She noted that the shipment would provide essential food resources for Palestinian refugees and displaced Lebanese people impacted by recent conflicts.
