Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that collaborative efforts with neighboring Trkiye are enhancing stability both in the region and beyond. During a meeting with security officials from Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member states in Baku, Aliyev emphasized the unique nature of the relationship between Azerbaijan and Trkiye, noting their special place and role in regional dynamics.

According to Anadolu Agency, Aliyev expressed that the relationship between Azerbaijan and Trkiye is unparalleled globally, highlighting the strong bonds formed by historical ties, cultural connections, and people-to-people relations. He noted that the cooperation between the two nations is a crucial factor in maintaining stability in the region and the wider world, especially given the current challenging geopolitical situation.

Aliyev pointed to the Shusha Declaration signed in 2021 with Ankara as the pinnacle of their relations, which formally elevated their ties to an alliance. He remarked on the steady strengthening of this unity and its increasing influence on the global stage over the past five years.

The OTS, comprising Trkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan as members, and Turkmenistan, Hungary, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as observers, is focused on enhancing its international role. Aliyev noted the growing potential of OTS countries, situated across vital energy and transport routes, and their increasing significance in international affairs.

Aliyev underscored the importance of stability, peace, and security as key factors for the successful development of the OTS. He mentioned that stability is essential for attracting investment, technology, and innovation, distinguishing OTS countries from less stable regions.

He further highlighted the economic growth of OTS countries, which contrasts with opposite trends seen in various parts of the world, emphasizing the organization's importance in fostering security and development.
