Tanker Hit by ‘Unknown Projectile’ in Strait of Hormuz, Maritime Watchdog Reports

Strait of hormuz: A tanker was struck by 'an unknown projectile' in the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in a fire onboard, as reported by the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Center.

According to Anadolu Agency, the fire has since been extinguished, and the UKMTO confirmed in a statement released through US social media company X that all crew members are reported to be safe. Currently, the environmental impact remains unconfirmed.

The UKMTO has urged ships transiting the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity to them while authorities pursue an investigation into the incident. Details regarding the nature of the projectile and the circumstances of the strike have not been disclosed at this time.
