Kyiv: Russian attacks across Ukraine resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left 21 others injured overnight, as reported by Ukraine's Foreign Ministry on Saturday.
According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry made a statement on the US social media platform X, emphasizing the need for stronger international pressure on Moscow to cease the ongoing conflict and pursue peace. The ministry detailed that a Russian guided bomb targeted a nine-story residential building in the Sumy region, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to eight others, including two children. Four individuals were successfully rescued from the building's rubble.
In Balakliia, located in the Kharkiv region, a Russian drone strike tragically claimed the lives of an elderly couple when their private residence was destroyed. Meanwhile, in Odesa, a Russian attack on an 11-story administrative building resulted in injuries to ten people, including two rescuers. The ministry alleged that Russia launched another strike while emergency crews were on the scene.
The eastern city of Sloviansk also faced a Russian airstrike, which injured three people. Moreover, a residential building in the Kramatorsk district caught fire, with rescuers managing to save two individuals from the flames. The statement further highlighted that a hospital in Pavlohrad and civilian infrastructure in the Kyiv region were also targeted by Russian strikes.
Ukraine's Air Force reported that Russia launched two missiles and 174 drones overnight, with 141 of these targets being neutralized. The primary targets were identified as the Odesa and Kyiv regions, as stated on Telegram.
Conversely, Russia's Defense Ministry shared via Telegram that its forces intercepted and destroyed 344 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory and the Black Sea. The ministry also claimed responsibility for drone strikes on Ukrainian logistics centers, ports, vessels serving Ukrainian forces, and transport infrastructure. Specifically, in the Kyiv region, Russian forces reportedly targeted the Kopylov logistics park, which was alleged to be used for military cargo storage and distribution.
In the Odesa region, Russian forces reportedly struck a pontoon crossing over the Dniester River, a location claimed to be used for transporting military cargo from Romania and the port of Izmail. Additionally, a dry-cargo vessel at the port of Chornomorsk and two dry-cargo vessels at sea, believed to be transporting supplies for Ukrainian forces to the port of Odesa, were claimed to have been struck.
