Tubas: The Israeli army's closure of two key checkpoints in the northern West Bank has prevented over 100 Palestinian teachers from reaching their schools, significantly impacting the education system in the region. This action has drawn attention to the ongoing military restrictions in the occupied territories.

According to Anadolu Agency, Azmi Balawneh, the director of education in the Tubas Governorate, reported that 104 teachers were unable to access their schools due to the closure of the Tayasir and Ein Shibli checkpoints in the northern Jordan Valley. This disruption has affected six schools and a kindergarten, impacting approximately 1,100 students.

The closures are part of broader military restrictions imposed by the Israeli army across the West Bank. In a related incident, Israeli forces raided the village of Al-Mughayyir, located east of Ramallah in the central West Bank. The raid included the closure of the village's main entrance and the arrest of dozens of Palestinians.

Local sources informed Anadolu that a substantial Israeli military presence entered the village early Sunday, conducting searches of Palestinian homes with the support of infantry units, military vehicles, and a drone. The blockade of the village entrance further disrupted school attendance and hindered workers and employees from reaching their jobs.

The village of Al-Mughayyir has experienced repeated raids and attacks by Israeli forces, reflecting an escalation in violence against Palestinians and their properties in the area. These actions have intensified since the onset of Israel's war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, with increased military operations in the occupied West Bank.
