Tehran: Iran has announced its intention to retaliate against US interests following the decision by the United States to resume military strikes against the country. This declaration comes in light of a statement from the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which was broadcasted by state-run IRIB. The statement alleges that the US, with the support of certain regional countries, made this decision during a joint meeting held in a European nation.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Iranian headquarters warned of potential retaliation should Washington proceed with its actions. The statement highlighted that any regional countries aligning themselves with US aggression against Iran would be deemed complicit and warned that Iran's armed forces would not show restraint or decency in their response.

The situation has intensified in the Middle East following the US and Israel's initiation of a conflict against Iran on February 28. In response, Tehran has conducted strikes on neighboring countries hosting US assets and has closed the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial passage for global oil and gas exports.

Previously, Washington and Tehran had reached a framework agreement in June aimed at ceasing military operations and reopening the Strait of Hormuz for navigation. However, this agreement fell apart due to unresolved disputes over navigation rights in the strategic waterway.
