Ankara: Trkiye's National Intelligence Organization head, Ibrahim Kalin, met with Abdussalam Zubi, Libya's acting defense minister, in Istanbul, as reported by security sources on Sunday. The meeting, which took place on Saturday, comes amid ongoing negotiations aimed at unifying Libya's military and political institutions.

According to Anadolu Agency, the discussions between the two officials covered recent developments in Libya and the region, strategies to uphold Libya-Trkiye cooperation, and ongoing efforts to achieve political and military unity in Libya, aiming to preserve stability. Zubi expressed gratitude towards Trkiye for its efforts to foster unity in Libya.

Kalin emphasized Trkiye's commitment to continuing its support for Libya's security and stability. Previously, on September 10, Kalin had discussions in Ankara with Aguila Saleh, the speaker of Libya's House of Representatives, and Mohammed Takala, head of the High Council of State, further underscoring the importance of Trkiye's role in the Libyan peace process.
