New York:Turkey is in favor of normalizing trade and transport ties with Armenia and is keen to sustain the positive momentum in their bilateral relations, as conveyed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

According to Anadolu Agency, the meeting between Erdogan and Pashinyan took place at the Turkish House in New York during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The leaders discussed their bilateral relations and addressed regional and global issues.

President Erdogan expressed Turkey's approval of reciprocal measures in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He also mentioned that the increasing cooperation between Turkey and Armenia within international organizations is aiding the normalization process.

Furthermore, Erdogan extended an invitation to Pashinyan to participate in the COP31 Leaders' Summit in Turkey. The meeting was also attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
