Ankara:A cargo vessel was hit by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz, leading to a fire and causing the vessel to drift.

According to Anadolu Agency, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency reported the incident on Wednesday. The vessel's company security officer informed UKMTO of the situation, confirming that all crew members had been evacuated, with two casualties.

Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident, and no environmental impact has been detected so far.

UKMTO has advised vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the agency.
