New York:Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has arrived in New York to participate in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, where he will deliver an address and engage in talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

According to Anadolu Agency, Lavrov's arrival was confirmed by Russia's Permanent Mission to the UN. He is scheduled to speak at the General Assembly on Saturday.

Kirill Logvinov, head of the ministry's international organizations department, revealed to state news agency Tass that Lavrov will be involved in 20 international meetings during his time at the UN.

Additionally, Lavrov is expected to meet with Rubio, with the US State Department announcing their meeting is set for 9 am local time on Wednesday (1300 GMT).

Furthermore, Tass reported that Lavrov has over 30 meetings planned on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
