Dublin:US rapper Macklemore has announced a new concert series titled 'Free Palestine Tour' after being removed from Ed Sheeran's US tour lineup. All proceeds from these concerts will benefit organizations supporting Palestinians.

According to Anadolu Agency, Macklemore revealed the tour will kick off with performances in Dublin on October 26, Paris on October 29, and London on October 30. Additional artists and US tour dates will be announced at a later time.

Macklemore explained the motivation behind the tour, stating, "What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage." He emphasized the influence of powerful interests in determining which voices are heard in public forums.

His removal from Ed Sheeran's US tour came after performing a pro-Palestinian song, 'Hind's Hall,' and advocating for a 'Free Palestine' during concerts in New Jersey. Ed Sheeran mentioned that the decision was made by the tour's US promoter due to objections from venues about Macklemore's participation.

Sheeran, addressing the situation at a Philadelphia concert on September 19, labeled the situation in Gaza as "catastrophic and unjustifiable" but reiterated his desire for his concerts to focus on unity rather than political issues.

Macklemore has been vocal in his support for Palestinians since the onset of Israel's war on Gaza. He released 'Hind's Hall' in 2024, naming it after a Palestinian girl killed in Gaza, and committed the song's proceeds to humanitarian organizations aiding Palestinians.
