Moscow:Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko announced that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has been invited to visit Russia.

According to Anadolu Agency, Rudenko mentioned in an interview with Russian state news agency Tass that Kim Jong Un has an 'outstanding invitation' to visit Russia. He emphasized that Moscow would 'always be glad' to welcome the North Korean leader, and that the visit's dates will be determined through diplomatic channels.

Kim Jong Un has previously visited Russia twice. His latest visit was in September 2023, during which he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Vostochny Cosmodrome in the country's Far Eastern Amur region. His first visit occurred in 2019.

The relationship between Pyongyang and Moscow has notably strengthened since the signing of a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty in June 2024, when Putin visited North Korea. The most recent meeting between Putin and Kim took place in September 2025 in Beijing, where they attended a military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of China's Victory Day.
