Taiz:Yemeni government forces announced on Friday that they have launched attacks against Houthi positions and supply lines in the southwestern province of Taiz.
According to Anadolu Agency, military spokesman Majid Abdullah al-Nazili shared footage on the social media platform X, which he claims depicts strikes on Houthi fighters and supply routes in Dhubab and various other areas of Taiz. Dhubab is a coastal town located in the Bab el-Mandeb district, overlooking the Red Sea near the northern entrance of the strategic strait.
Al-Nazili did not provide information regarding casualties or damage from these strikes. Meanwhile, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree asserted that Saudi warplanes executed 14 airstrikes and a missile attack within the last 24 hours across the Taiz, Amran, Marib, and Saada provinces.
The conflict in Yemen has persisted since the Houthi group took control of the national capital Sanaa and several provinces in 2014, leading to the intervention of a Saudi-led Arab coalition in 2015, supporting the internationally recognized government. Hostilities escalated in July when the Houthis declared a maritime blockade on Riyadh. Recently, the Houthis have claimed advances along the Red Sea Coast and Bab el-Mandab Strait and have also targeted Saudi Arabia's oil infrastructure.
