Riyadh:Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has reiterated Saudi Arabia's support for Sudan's stability, unity, and sovereignty during a phone conversation with Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.

According to Anadolu Agency, the crown prince emphasized the kingdom's dedication to preserving Sudan's territorial integrity. He expressed Saudi Arabia's backing for efforts that aim to achieve stability in Sudan, which would facilitate comprehensive development and the return of displaced people and refugees to their homes.

Sudan has been in turmoil since April 2023, with a conflict between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) over the unification of the military establishment. This ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of people and has displaced approximately 13 million individuals, based on estimates from the UN and other international bodies.
