Ankara:Fenerbahce Tarfin defeated Dubai Basketball 76-66, maintaining their flawless start in the EuroLeague with a third consecutive win.
According to Anadolu Agency, both teams came into the Round 3 matchup with 2-0 records, but Fenerbahce capitalized on their home advantage to take an early lead. The Turkish team led 14-10 midway through the first quarter and extended their lead to 26-14 by the end of the period.
In the second quarter, Fenerbahce continued their dominance, extending their lead to 35-20. Dubai, however, managed to close the gap before halftime, trailing by just three points as Fenerbahce led 42-39 at the break.
The third quarter saw both teams struggle offensively, with Fenerbahce holding a narrow 55-51 advantage. Dubai fought back to tie the game at 61-61 with just under five minutes left.
Fenerbahce then tightened their defense, allowing Dubai only five more points and securing a 76-66 victory. Marcus Bingham led Fenerbahce with 20 points and eight rebounds, while Elie Okobo scored 18 points for Dubai. This victory improved Fenerbahce's record to 3-0, handing Dubai their first loss of the season.
In another EuroLeague match, Barcelona overcame Besiktas 95-82 in Istanbul, improving their record to 2-1. Despite a strong start by the Spanish team, Besiktas managed to cut the deficit but ultimately could not keep up. Kevin Punter and Umoja Gibson led Barcelona with 16 and 15 points, respectively, while Scottie Wilbekin scored a game-high 17 points for Besiktas. Barcelona's win left Besiktas with a 1-2 record.
