Gaza City:The Israeli army killed five Palestinians and wounded six others in the Gaza Strip on Saturday amid ongoing violations of a ceasefire that has been in place since October 2025.
According to Anadolu Agency, the casualties included four women, two of whom were Christians, and a young man, all victims of an Israeli airstrike targeting a residential apartment in western Gaza City. This information was confirmed by a medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital.
Local sources and eyewitness accounts reported that Israeli warplanes fired at least two missiles at an apartment in the Asala residential building early Saturday morning. The attack destroyed the targeted apartment and caused significant damage to nearby homes, sparking a fire.
Further reports from local sources stated that the Israeli army conducted a demolition operation targeting buildings and facilities in areas under its control east of the Tuffah neighborhood in northeastern Gaza City.
In addition, in the southern Gaza Strip, Israeli artillery conducted heavy shelling on areas south and east of Khan Younis and north of Rafah, accompanied by intense gunfire, as observed by eyewitnesses.
In central Gaza, Israeli military vehicles were reported to have opened heavy fire on areas east of the Bureij refugee camp.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement have resulted in the deaths of at least 1,439 Palestinians and injuries to 5,052 others as of Thursday. Since October 2023, Palestinian figures indicate that over 74,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 175,000 injured in the Gaza Strip, with around 90% of the territory's infrastructure destroyed.
