Tabuk:United Arab Emirates A probe into a recent violent incident on a Flydubai flight has revealed that the co-pilot attempted a 'terrorist act,' attacking the captain with a crash axe, according to the UAE's top law enforcement official.
According to Anadolu Agency, UAE Attorney General Hamad Saif al-Shamsi stated that the co-pilot tried to use the emergency tool to attack the captain and gain control of the aircraft. This statement was reported by the state-run WAM news agency.
The investigation aims to uncover all circumstances, motives, and connections related to the incident, al-Shamsi mentioned. The final findings will be released upon the completion of the necessary procedures.
The Flydubai flight, FZ1073, was carrying 174 passengers from Dubai to Tel Aviv when it was granted permission for an emergency landing at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, after an altercation occurred in the flight deck. The crew secured the aircraft, leading to a safe diversion to Saudi Arabia.
