Syrians in Hasakah Rally for Faster SDF Integration and Stronger State Presence

Hasakah:Syrians took to the streets on Friday in the northeastern city of Hasakah, calling for quicker integration of the dissolved Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into state institutions and advocating for a more robust government presence in the province.

According to Anadolu Agency, demonstrators marched from the Ghweiran neighborhood to the city's main square. They demanded the deployment of internal security forces to ensure security and stability in the province.

Protesters also urged an end to violations and called for expedited measures to integrate the SDF into government institutions. Internal security forces were present around gathering points and along key roads to maintain order during the demonstration.

Recently, several areas in Hasakah province have experienced shootings and explosions, which the government is addressing as part of its efforts to stabilize the security situation.

On August 25, Mazloum Abdi, the former commander of the SDF, announced the group's dissolution and its full integration into Syrian state institutions. Earlier in January, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued a decree to safeguard the rights of Kurds and encourage their active participation in national development and unity.

Since the ouster of the Bashar al-Assad regime in December 2024, the Syrian government has been working to consolidate security and stability across the country.
