Two Missing After Fishing Vessel Capsizes Near Jeju Island

Jeju:An Indonesian national is among two crew members missing following the capsizing of a fishing vessel off Jeju Island in South Korea.

According to Anadolu Agency, the incident involved a 29-ton coastal longline fishing boat that capsized approximately 65 kilometers northwest of Chagwi Island. Among the rescued were eight Indonesians and one Vietnamese, all saved by nearby fishermen.

The search continues for another Indonesian crew member and the South Korean captain who remain unaccounted for, as reported by the Jeju Coast Guard. Efforts to locate the missing crew include a helicopter, navy and patrol vessels, and civilian fishing boats.

Initially, the fishing boat reported having eight people on board in its departure filing; however, authorities later discovered that there were actually 11 individuals aboard.
