Israeli Forces Conduct Raid in Syria’s Quneitra Province

Quneitra:Israeli forces carried out a raid in Syria's southern Quneitra province on Tuesday morning. Reports from Syrian media indicate that the operation involved two Israeli tanks and several soldiers advancing into the area of Tal al-Duriyat near the village of Al-Muallaqa in southern Quneitra.

According to Anadolu Agency, there were no immediate reports of detentions or casualties resulting from the raid. The incident followed an event on Monday when the Israeli army killed a man in southern Syria, claiming he was attempting to enter a military post in what it described as a 'security area.'

Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime on December 8, 2024, Israel has increased military activities in Syria, extending its operations into the demilitarized buffer zone in the occupied Golan Heights and nearby positions. Syria has called for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied territories and reiterated its commitment to the 1974 disengagement agreement. Israel, however, maintains that its actions are motivated by security concerns.
