TSMC Reports 54.6% Increase in September Revenue Driven by AI Chip Demand

Taipei:Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the world's leading contract chipmaker, announced a significant revenue increase for September, reporting 511.86 billion new Taiwanese dollars ($16.03 billion), which marks a 54.6% rise compared to the same month last year.

According to Anadolu Agency, TSMC's consolidated revenue saw a slight decline of 0.6% from August figures. This follows a sharp increase in August, when revenue rose 10.1% from July, reaching approximately $16.12 billion, which was 53.3% higher than August of the previous year.

The robust demand for AI infrastructure and advanced processors used in data centers, supplied by TSMC to major clients like Nvidia and Apple, has significantly contributed to this revenue growth. Despite the impressive year-on-year figures, TSMC's shares fell by 1.35% in Taiwan before the revenue announcement.

The company's revenue for the July-September quarter totaled around $46.7 billion. TSMC plans to release its detailed third-quarter financial results on October 15, which will include insights into profitability and future business projections.
