Biddu:Israeli forces demolished the home of Palestinian prisoner Qadri Samara in the town of Biddu, located northwest of occupied Jerusalem. This action took place on Wednesday after the area was surrounded and residents were evacuated, as reported by the Palestinian Jerusalem Governorate.
According to Anadolu Agency, the governorate stated that troops cordoned off the neighborhood, forcing residents out of their homes, which led some to spend the night in mosques. Initially, bulldozers were used to demolish the lower floor of Samara's home before the building was blown up.
The Israeli army confirmed the demolition and acknowledged conducting raids in the area, stating that troops were searching for weapons. Additionally, the army admitted to destroying memorials during a raid in Nablus, alleging they incited terrorism and glorified terrorists. This coincided with a curfew and the arrests of Palestinians.
On September 20, the army announced Samara's arrest, alleging his involvement in a shooting near the Neve Tzuf settlement. He was reportedly found wounded in a hospital in Ramallah after fleeing the scene.
In the village of Beit Duqqu, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, Israeli forces raided homes, detained Palestinians, and conducted field interrogations, according to the governorate. Troops also sealed off the village, preventing residents from leaving for work. Similar operations, including arrests and interrogations, were carried out in nearby Beit Anan and Qatanna, where access was restricted.
The governorate did not specify the number of Palestinians detained during these operations. Since the onset of Israel's war in Gaza in October 2023, there has been an escalation in military actions in the occupied West Bank, resulting in the deaths of 1,207 Palestinians, including 254 children, with around 13,350 injured and over 26,000 arrests, based on official Palestinian statistics.
