Gaza:Hamas has refuted Israeli assertions that a hospital in northern Gaza was involved in military operations, following a deadly Israeli strike near the facility.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army alleged that two Palestinians exited Kamal Adwan Hospital, with one planting explosive devices purportedly sourced from inside. Both individuals were subsequently targeted and killed by Israeli forces. The army identified one of the deceased as Mohammed Tamous, alleging his affiliation with Hamas' armed wing and the Palestinian Civil Defense.
No evidence was provided by the Israeli army to support its claims that explosives were moved from the hospital or that it served military purposes. Hamas dismissed these claims, labeling them as 'false and baseless.' The group stated that such allegations are consistent with previous unfounded Israeli claims regarding command centers within hospitals.
Hamas accused Israel of using these allegations as justification for targeting hospitals and civilian sites in Gaza. On the same day, a Palestinian Civil Defense medic succumbed to injuries from an Israeli strike while en route to assist the wounded near Kamal Adwan Hospital. An Israeli aircraft reportedly attacked the area again as the medic approached the scene.
Since October 2023, the conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 74,000 Palestinians and injuries to more than 175,000, with approximately 90% of Gaza's infrastructure destroyed, according to Palestinian figures.
