Philadelphia:LeBron James made his debut for the Philadelphia 76ers in a preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets, ending in a 114-108 loss. James contributed 10 points and acknowledged the need for time to develop team chemistry with his new teammates.
According to Anadolu Agency, the 41-year-old joined the 76ers in July after spending eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. In the game, he played 18 minutes during the first half, adding four rebounds, five assists, and a steal.
James expressed the importance of finding ways to be successful and complement each other on the floor, stating, "We're still trying to put each other in the position to be successful and complement each other the best way we can on the floor. But it's going to take some time." He added that the game was a good starting point to build on for the future.
In the game, James started alongside Joel Embiid, VJ Edgecombe, Tyrese Maxey, and new addition Jaylen Brown, who led the team with 18 points. Entering his record-extending 24th season, James has signed what he says will be his final contract.
Throughout his career, James has won four NBA championships—two with the Miami Heat and one each with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. He has also won four league MVP awards and has been selected as an All-Star for 22 consecutive seasons. His goal is to help the 76ers secure their first NBA championship since 1983.
