Russian Oil Tanker Begins First Shipment to Global Markets

Dikson:Moscow The first tanker carrying Russian oil has departed for world markets, marking a significant event in the country's energy exports. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced that the tanker was loaded and dispatched from the Dikson port in the Krasnoyarsk region, a key seaport on the coast of the Kara Sea.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, Deputy Prime Minister Novak emphasized that Russia is not facing any issues regarding oil sales and that numerous countries have shown interest in purchasing Russian oil. He also highlighted a current market shortfall of approximately 4-6 million barrels of oil per day, which has led to increased prices.

The announcement follows a recent agreement unveiled by US President Donald Trump after discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The agreement allows for Russian diesel supplies to the US and global markets. Putin asserted that these supplies would benefit the world economy. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the deal, suggesting that easing restrictions on Russian diesel exports might inadvertently aid Russia's military endeavors.

Novak further commented on potential market stabilization, suggesting that if supplies from Persian Gulf countries resume, the market could rebalance within one to one and a half years. He noted that the ability to utilize oil reserves for market stabilization is diminishing.

Additionally, Novak mentioned that Russia aims to deliver 39 billion cubic meters of gas to China through the Power of Siberia pipeline, with plans to expand this capacity to 44 billion cubic meters. He also indicated that while technical capabilities exist to restore gas supplies to Europe via the Nord Stream pipelines, the decision rests on European consumers, as three out of four lines are currently inoperable due to attacks.
