Accra:French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to visit Kuwait on Monday for discussions with Kuwaiti officials. The visit will be Macron's first to the Gulf nation as president and marks a significant event in the diplomatic relationship between France and Kuwait.
According to Anadolu Agency, Macron will be accompanied by an official delegation and is set to engage in talks with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The visit coincides with the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
This trip follows Emir Sheikh Meshal's visit to France in July 2025, during which he met with Macron and extended an invitation for the French president to visit Kuwait in 2026. During their previous discussions in Paris, the leaders agreed to enhance cooperation in various fields, including defense, investment, energy, and culture. This visit by Macron is the first by a French leader to Kuwait since Nicolas Sarkozy's visit in February 2009.
