Anthropic Unveils Claude Duet AI to Challenge Meta’s Muse and OpenAI’s Dots

Accra:US-based artificial intelligence company Anthropic has launched Claude Duet, a new AI agent aimed at managing tasks independently for users. This introduction positions Claude Duet as a competitor to Meta's Muse and OpenAI's Dots.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, Claude Duet is powered by Claude Opus 5.5 and is designed to assist professionals and small business owners by providing daily briefings and handling various tasks, including scheduling meetings, preparing financial forecasts, and building web applications.

The AI agent is designed to proactively manage tasks, notifying users of what requires attention, completing tasks as instructed, and continuing to work even when users are not present. It operates through a browser-equipped virtual machine, which allows it to function even when users' devices are off, as noted by the company.

Anthropic has emphasized that Claude Duet requires user approval before sending messages, making payments, signing documents, or deleting information. Additionally, safeguards have been implemented to prevent unauthorized disclosure of sensitive data, such as credit card numbers and government identification details.

A waitlist for a research preview of Claude Duet was opened on Wednesday, initially available to Pro and Max subscribers in the US. The company has not yet disclosed when the assistant will be broadly available. This launch comes on the heels of Meta's Muse and OpenAI's Dots, as leading AI firms strive to develop proactive assistants that can perform tasks on behalf of users.
