Gliwice:Polish prosecutors are actively investigating an alleged plot to set fire to a factory supplying military drones to Ukraine. The factory, owned by WB Group, is located in Gliwice and specializes in producing reconnaissance drones used by Ukrainian forces.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, the investigation is centered around an attempt to recruit an individual to sabotage the Flytronic facility on behalf of a foreign intelligence service. The case has been transferred to Poland's Internal Security Agency (ABW) for further examination.
Reports indicate that the recruitment attempt was uncovered when a journalist from the media outlet Vot Tak, posing as a Belarusian job seeker, communicated with a recruiter via Telegram. The recruiter, using the alias Joker, initially offered money for setting fire to vehicles with Ukrainian plates and later suggested a $30,000 arson attack on the drone factory. The recruiter's Telegram account is reportedly linked to a Russian phone number from the Saratov region.
The investigation in Gliwice follows a similar incident in August at another WB Group facility in Skarzysko-Kamienna. That incident, described by Prime Minister Donald Tusk as an 'act of sabotage,' is also under scrutiny to determine whether it was orchestrated by a foreign intelligence agency.
