Yemeni Army Claims Success in ‘Dawn of Yemen’ Operation Against Houthis

Accra:Yemen's armed forces announced that approximately 336 Houthi fighters and commanders have been neutralized as part of the ongoing 'Dawn of Yemen' military operation.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, military spokesman Col. Majed Abdullah al-Nuzaili detailed that government forces executed 1,087 strikes using warplanes, drones, field artillery, and rocket launchers. These strikes targeted key Houthi command centers, troop concentrations, reinforcements, and supply routes.

Al-Nuzaili reported that in the southwestern province of Taiz, government and allied Popular Resistance fighters conducted raids and counterattacks on strategic Houthi positions. Additionally, reconnaissance operations in the provinces of Al-Jawf, Marib, and Al-Bayda, along with southern and southwestern fronts, were followed by targeted strikes to prevent infiltration attempts and disrupt reinforcements.

The operations not only neutralized 336 Houthi personnel but also resulted in the destruction or damage of 112 military vehicles and heavy weapons. The armed forces emphasized their commitment to targeting Houthi military capabilities while safeguarding civilians and infrastructure.

The renewed military activities occur amidst ongoing hostilities between Yemen’s internationally recognized government and the Houthis, with the Saudi-led coalition intervening to support the government since 2015. The conflict has recently intensified, including cross-border attacks into Saudi Arabia. The coalition has intercepted Houthi missiles aimed at various Saudi regions, underscoring the escalating tensions.
