Kremlin Stresses No Pause in Conflict as Trilateral Talks Preparation Continues

Moscow:Preparations for upcoming trilateral talks involving Russia, the United States, and Ukraine do not necessitate a halt in military operations on the front line, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. Peskov emphasized that Moscow opposes a ceasefire that could offer Kyiv an opportunity to regroup.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, Peskov reiterated Russia's stance on seeking a lasting peace rather than a temporary ceasefire. He noted that Russia does not plan to suspend its military activities ahead of the talks scheduled in Abu Dhabi this November.

Further discussions regarding the involvement of European countries in the negotiations have not occurred, Peskov said, although he mentioned that European participation might become necessary at a later stage. He clarified that no substantive talks on this issue have been held yet.

Peskov also addressed concerns regarding Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries, stating that such actions would not hinder the planned negotiations. He indicated that Moscow does not intend to bring up the issue during the talks, leaving it for Washington and Kyiv to address.
