Paris: Air France announced Thursday that the company is investigating a data breach and warned its customers of possible phishing attempts, broadcaster BFM TV reported.

According to Anadolu Agency, the airline confirmed it was investigating "fraudulent access to the data of some of its customers," assuring the public that no sensitive data such as passwords, travel data, passport, or credit card numbers were disclosed.

While the exact number of individuals affected by the breach was not disclosed, Air France stated it is actively contacting customers whose information may have been compromised.

An email sent to a customer on Wednesday evening, seen by BFM TV, indicated that the compromised data might include first and last names, contact details, and the content of email inquiries.

The airline has urged affected customers to "be extra vigilant if they receive suspicious calls or emails," stressing that the breach could make them susceptible to phishing attempts.
