Air India Flight Diverted to Jaipur Amid Suspected Hijack Alert

Jaipur:An Air India flight traveling from Frankfurt to New Delhi was diverted to Jaipur on Wednesday following a suspected hijack alert and an alleged bomb threat.

According to Anadolu Agency, Flight AI-2030 landed safely at Jaipur International Airport at 935 am and was taken to an isolation bay for security checks. Authorities are investigating the incident, and initial checks indicated that the aircraft's operations were normal.

The emergency arose when Ahmedabad Air Traffic Control received an emergency signal from the aircraft briefly around 9 am. The pilot reportedly activated Squawk 7500, a transponder code used to indicate a hijacking or unlawful interference.

All passengers were reported safe and were being deboarded, with airport management confirming that the situation was under control. The emergency landing followed a bomb threat, as reported by the Hindustan Times citing police sources.
