ANKARA: Carlos Alcaraz and Coco Gauff moved to the Wimbledon third round after defeating their opponents on Wednesday. Spaniard Alcaraz, 21, eliminated Australian Aleksandar Vukic 7-6 (5), 6-2, 6-2 sets in the men's singles second round match. The reigning men's singles champion looks to defend his title. Separately, world no. 2 Coco Gauff beat Romanian Anca Todoni 6-2, 6-1 in the second round of the women's singles. Gauff, a 20-year-old US player, has never gone beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon.
