Ankara:A report from Iranian state-run Press TV alleges that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu planned a 'false flag' operation to hijack an Emirati aircraft to provoke the United States into a conflict with Iran. The report, citing an unnamed regional source, suggests the incident involved a flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, which occurred on Wednesday.
According to Anadolu Agency, The source claims the plan was finalized during a secret visit by Netanyahu to the United Arab Emirates, accompanied by senior military and intelligence officials. Discussions reportedly involved officials from various Arab nations and aimed to stage an event that could be blamed on Iran, with the objective of engaging US President Donald Trump in a war with Iran.
The report also suggests that Netanyahu's motives were tied to concerns over his political standing ahead of parliamentary elections. However, Press TV did not provide evidence or identify its source.
There has been no immediate response from Israel, the UAE, or the US regarding these allegations. The claims surfaced after flydubai flight FZ1073, carrying 174 passengers, made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia due to an altercation in the flight deck. Saudi authorities are investigating, and flydubai has temporarily suspended flights to and from Israel during the investigation. All passengers and crew were reported safe, though the captain and first officer were injured.
