Manisa: The ancient city of Sardis and the Lydian Tumuli of Bin Tepe in Trkiye's Manisa province have been officially inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This announcement was made by Trkiye's culture and tourism minister, marking a significant recognition of the historical and cultural significance of the site.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkish culture and tourism minister, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, shared the news on social media, highlighting the importance of this recognition. He emphasized that the region, which was once the capital of the Lydian civilization and the birthplace of the world's first coin, is now acknowledged as a part of humanity's shared heritage.

Ersoy expressed gratitude to all who contributed to achieving this recognition, stating, "Trkiye's cultural treasures will continue to emerge one by one during the Century of Trkiye." He also invited people to experience the unique atmosphere of Sardis, noting that it now welcomes visitors under a special night museum program.

In a related statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed that Sardis and the Lydian Tumuli of Bin Tepe were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List during the 47th Session of the World Heritage Committee in Paris. With this addition, the total number of sites from Trkiye on the UNESCO World Heritage List has reached 22.
