Ankara: Trkiye's first lady Emine Erdogan has highlighted the significance of the longstanding friendship between Trkiye and Japan, referring to it as a "bridge to the future." This statement was made as Erdogan expressed her aspirations for enhanced ties between Ankara and Tokyo, celebrating the enduring friendship and cultural wealth shared by the two nations. According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkish first lady shared her thoughts on social media platform X after a meeting with Japanese Princess Kiko. The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, was part of the activities during the visit of Japan's Crown Prince Fumihito and Crown Princess Kiko to Trkiye. Erdogan emphasized her desire for this friendship, enriched with solidarity, understanding, and cultural diversity, to last forever. During their visit, Erdogan and Princess Kiko explored Trkiye's Presidential National Library, particularly its Japan Library section in Ankara, reflecting the cultural exchange between the two countries. This visit by the J apanese royal couple, marking their first trip to Trkiye, also coincides with the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. The royal couple arrived in Ankara on Tuesday evening and are scheduled to return to Japan on Sunday. The visit underscores the enduring bond and mutual respect between Trkiye and Japan, promising to further enrich bilateral understanding and cooperative efforts.
