Doha: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that Trkiye is actively pursuing efforts to implement an immediate peace plan for Gaza amidst a deepening humanitarian crisis. Speaking at the Doha Forum 2025, where Anadolu is a global communications partner, Fidan emphasized Ankara's commitment to 'concrete and practical steps' for Gaza.

According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan described the ongoing humanitarian and diplomatic work aimed at halting the conflict and activating the peace plan, despite Israel's negative stance. He highlighted the need for careful management of the process and affirmed Trkiye's determination to coordinate efforts in advancing the peace agreement, maintaining close dialogue with regional partners as well as American and European allies.

The proposed peace plan for Gaza consists of several components, including the exchange of Israeli captives for Palestinian prisoners, a permanent ceasefire, the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces, the establishment of a new governing mechanism, and the reconstruction of the war-torn enclave. Although a truce has been in place since October, it has been frequently violated by Israel.

Fidan also explored Anadolu's book collection at the forum, which includes titles such as The Evidence, The Witness, and The Perpetrator, all documenting various aspects of the situation in Gaza. He commended these works for providing extensive information about the events in the region.

The Doha Forum 2025, themed 'Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress,' commenced in Qatar with numerous global leaders in attendance. The two-day event features discussions on pressing international issues such as peace in Gaza, Gulf-EU relations, responsible use of AI in military contexts, and US-China relations. The previous forum, held in December 2024, attracted over 5,000 participants, including more than 350 speakers.
