Apple App Store Ecosystem Reaches $1.4 Trillion in Sales in 2025

New york: The global Apple App Store ecosystem generated over $1.4 trillion in developer billings and sales in 2025, driven by the rise of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), which are accelerating application innovation.

According to Anadolu Agency, an independent study conducted by Analysis Group revealed that developers did not pay any commission to Apple for more than 90% of these transactions. Since 2019, the App Store ecosystem has nearly tripled in size, while maintaining its reputation as a secure platform for users to discover new applications.

The study highlighted that sales of physical goods and services made up $1.1 trillion of the total amount. This surge was largely fueled by growth in sectors such as grocery, food delivery, and travel. Furthermore, developer billings and sales of digital goods and services reached $149 billion, with in-app advertising revenue totaling $151 billion in the past year.

In 2025, the App Store boasted over 850 million average weekly users across 175 countries and regions. AI played a pivotal role in this expansion, with over 40 of the top 100 applications incorporating consumer-facing AI capabilities. These AI-integrated applications experienced more robust billing growth compared to other top-performing applications on the platform.
