Bishkek: Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that his country is actively pursuing a 'multipolar foreign policy' to enhance its sovereignty. Speaking at the SCO Plus summit in Kyrgyzstan's capital, Pashinyan highlighted the global consensus on the need for a multipolar world as a means to ensure stability and peace.

According to Anadolu Agency, Pashinyan explained that Armenia aims to contribute to global multipolarity by adopting a balanced foreign policy. He emphasized that the primary objective is to preserve Armenia's sovereignty and independence, asserting that these cannot thrive amidst conflict.

Pashinyan also mentioned the importance of regional multipolarity, emphasizing Armenia's efforts to strengthen ties with neighboring countries such as Iran and Georgia. Additionally, Armenia is taking steps to establish interstate relations with Azerbaijan and Trkiye, facilitated by the peace agreement with Azerbaijan on August 8 of last year, with assistance from former US President Donald Trump.

Further detailing Armenia's foreign policy initiatives, Pashinyan discussed ongoing collaborations with Azerbaijan and Trkiye to open interstate communications. This includes the commencement of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, expected to begin practical implementation soon. The project aims to enhance transport links from the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean and from the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea, promising economic benefits for all regional countries.
