Assisi mayor is centre-left candidate for Umbria governor

Assisi Mayor Stefania Proietti, a 'civic' candidate, will run for governor of the central Umbria region on behalf of a broad coalition of centre-left parties and 'civic' lists. Proietti has accepted the proposal made by a centre-left coalition including the Democratic Party (PD), the Five-Star Movement (M5S), the Green-Left Alliance (AVS), Socialists and Civic Catholic movements, forming together A Pact Forward, Italia Viva (IV) and Azione. Proietti will run against outgoing Umbria governor Donatella Tesei, a member of the League party, who will represent the centre-right ticket. The date of the regional election has not been scheduled yet, although it will probably be set between mid-November and the beginning of December. Source: Ansa News Agency
