Gaza city: At least 32 civilians were killed and others injured in several Israeli strikes since early Thursday in the Gaza Strip, according to medics.
According to Anadolu Agency, medical sources reported that Israeli strikes targeted a residential apartment in the Al-Shati refugee camp in northwest Gaza City, killing three people and injuring others. An elderly Palestinian and two women were killed, with additional injuries, when Israeli warplanes struck a home in the Sheikh Ridwan neighborhood of northern Gaza City.
A separate Israeli airstrike in the eastern Gaza City neighborhood of Al-Tuffah resulted in the death of a Palestinian woman and injuries to others, as reported by medical sources. In another tragic incident, an Israeli drone strike killed a Palestinian family of six, including a father, mother, and four children, as they sheltered in a tent in the Sheikh Ridwan neighborhood.
In the central Gaza Strip, four Palestinians, two of them children, were killed when the Israeli army targeted a residential apartment in the western Nuseirat refugee camp. Additionally, five people were killed when the Israeli army shelled a house in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, sparking a fire at the site. Israeli drones also targeted tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, killing a woman and her child.
Three more civilians lost their lives in the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis, in an Israeli drone strike. Five people were also killed by Israeli gunfire while waiting for the delivery of aid near a distribution point in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
The strikes come amid growing outrage over Israel's military actions in Gaza, where more than 61,200 people have been killed since October 2023. The military campaign has severely impacted the enclave and brought it to the brink of famine. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
