At Least 58 Killed, Including Pregnant Woman and Journalist, in Israeli Strikes on Gaza Strip

Gaza city: At least 58 Palestinians, including a pregnant woman, a child, and a journalist, were killed in new Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip, medics reported.

According to Anadolu Agency, a Palestinian was killed and several others were injured by Israeli fire in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City. Two additional fatalities were reported in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, also in Gaza City. The Israeli army shelled the Palestine Stadium area in central Gaza City, leading to three deaths. Eyewitnesses described heavy bombardment and airstrikes in the Shati refugee camp and Al-Sabra neighborhood since the early hours.

In a devastating strike in western Deir al-Balah, a Palestinian woman and her six sons were killed, with many others sustaining injuries. Another attack in the Nuseirat refugee camp resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to 20 more. In the Bureij refugee camp, a house hit by Israeli artillery left casualties unknown.

Central Gaza witnessed further tragedy as at least 18 civilians were killed and 33 injured by Israeli gunfire while seeking aid near the Netzarim Corridor. In the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, a Palestinian, his pregnant wife, and child were killed when the Israeli army shelled their tent. Another civilian lost their life in a southern Gaza attack.

In the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, an Israeli strike on a civilian gathering resulted in five deaths. The Daraj neighborhood in eastern Gaza City saw four Palestinians killed in a strike that targeted two houses. An unknown airstrike in Gaza City claimed another life.

The Israeli army killed six Palestinians, including journalist Yahya Barzaq, and wounded others in an attack on a civilian gathering west of Deir al-Balah. Two Palestinians were shot dead near the Morag axis in Khan Younis while waiting for aid. Another death occurred in an Israeli strike near the 'Mawza Junction' area in Khan Younis.

Since October 2023, the Israeli army has killed nearly 66,100 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, in Gaza. The ongoing bombardment has left the enclave uninhabitable, leading to starvation and the spread of diseases.
