Madrid:Atletico Madrid secured a 1-0 victory against Deportivo La Coruna in a LaLiga match held at home on Saturday, which propelled them to second place in the league standings after ten rounds.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, Julian Alvarez was the standout performer for Diego Simeone's side, scoring the decisive goal just two minutes into the second half. Despite fielding a strong lineup, Atletico appeared fatigued from their midweek commitments and initially struggled against a well-organized Deportivo defense.

Simeone's tactical changes during halftime proved effective as Atletico took the lead shortly after the break with Alvarez's goal in the 48th minute. Deportivo La Coruna made efforts to equalize but were unable to capitalize on their chances. The visitors had a near miss with the final kick of the match but failed to find the net.

The win boosted Atletico Madrid's tally to 25 points, placing them second in the LaLiga table, while Deportivo La Coruna remained on 11 points in the 10th position. In other Saturday LaLiga results, Elche defeated Rayo Vallecano 3-0, Racing Santander edged Espanyol 2-1, and Villarreal overcame Valencia with a 2-1 win.
